The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I call this piece From the Sea as it reminds me of those great days when you are out on the beach and in the surf and sand. I love the water and have always loved being around the water. This piece uses a lot of Indigo blue as Indigo is such a great color to use for almost everything. I also like art that makes you smile.
